The funny thing is that Bush & co. attacked McCain every bit as viciously as they did Kerry. That McCain is now trying to turn the same propaganda machine to his own purposes is just pathetic. The same publishers that produced the swiftboat veterans hit-piece are now writing more lies about Obama. It's not going to work a second time.

Notice that no matter who the Democrats nominate, the liars on the right will call him a "far-left elitist." Never mind that Obama is a straight-down-the-middle centrist, and never mind that he came from lower-middle-class origins, he's still a "far-left elitist." When you're dealing with people who simply don't care what the truth is, it's best to simply ignore their stupidity.

OK look, nobody listened to the "swiftboat vets" - nobody cares. I don't even know what they had to say. Bush was vulnerable but the Democrats, instead of nominating a centrist on defense issues like Bob Kerrey, or someone with an understanding of economic issues like Bill Richardson, nominated a far-left elitist who has been in the pockets of the public workers' unions from the time he was Lt. Governor of MA. In so doing they snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.

And they seem poised to do it again by nominating a neophyte who is better suited to be a motivational speaker.

EDIT 2 - I do view Kerry's actions after the war to be treasonous as well as misleading. The VC just like the terrorists today hid among the civilian population. You can't fire shots at someone, then go hide in a village, and cry foul when the return fire hits the village. Nor can you cry foul when you, a village, invite the VC / terrorists in, which they do.

Well it is never wrong to attack a coward and traitor who has damaged nation and service by his personal actions. It is also never wrong to admire a hero who has stood up and done what we sees as the right things no matter the suffering he had to endure because of his heroism even if I do not agree with him on political issues.

Kerry was not attacked for his service. He was applauded for his service.

Kerry was criticised for his attack on the military when he returned from service and began to protest the war. He lied and slandered his fellow soldiers during war.
