Why wont windows update download Windows Vista Service Pack 1?

I've set it to automatically download updates, so that's not the problem, but I've heard that there's a queue to get it downloaded from Windows update, does that mean I'll have to wait for an unknown period of time before it suddenly starts downloading?

Should I try to download it from Microsoft Download Center instead, I've heard it is complicated to do so, and not recommended unless you're an advanced user, is this true? I need Windows Vista SP1 now, so I can't afford to wait much longer, anything I should keep in mind if I chose to download it from Microsoft Download Center, or does anyone have any idea of why it wont download automatically?

"In mid-April 2008, Microsoft will begin distributing Windows Vista SP1 by using the Automatic Update (AU) system. If you do not want to wait for the regular AU distribution, you may scan Windows Update manually and Windows Vista SP1 will be offered for installation on most systems..."

To do this, follow these steps:
1. Click the "Start" button, type Windows Update in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.
2. Click "Check for updates."

If your computer has a known inconsistency, you should be now offered an update that will make the correction and that will let Windows Vista SP1 be offered and installed when Windows Update is next checked.

I had this problem myself, I just ran Windows Update a few times, and it suddenly started downloading the SP1...

Generally in windows update when automatic update is on it starts at any time so if u want do it manually by
going on site

now it will scan fo available updates it then install these as u want
