In the Special Air Service ?

I knew that would get your attention, In the SAS when your a fully paid up member you get a choice of weapons to carry in the field, my choice like most was the C7 with Grenade chucker...
So if you have unlimited choice what would you have and why?

I know to some this question is duff but so are most on here you have a choice answer or don't answer...

As a G.I., I Prefer either the M4 w/ RAS and M68CCO or the M16A4 w/ RAS and ACOG
For SDM type work the M16A4 is better than the M4.

I like the ergonomics of the M16/M4 series, the fact that it can be shot from the Left shoulder in MOUT/FIBUA unlike your L85A2. Our mags arent as good as yours though. those Hk mags are impressive.

I understand that the C7 used by the Brits has a heavier profile Barrel than the M4. how does that enhance accuracy, percentage wise?

As for the SAS, I personally could care less, fancy titles dont impress me, I'm just a Grunt.

as the job in hand is usually of a nature that does not require long distance weapons or heavy barrel ed stuff then my choice would still be the MP5K as a personal weapon with a Sig226 as a back up, having both chambered for 9mm means a ready supply of ammunition and both these weapons are capable of putting a man down and out in a CQB situation.

Id use the new Barret 6.8 it has the feal of an M4 whith the stoping power of an AK. For an optic Id use an ACOG 4power with the additional doctor red dot sight up top, add a AN/PEQ15, an M203 grenade launcher and an M3X tac light. Thats me I like the way the M4 feels and the Barret 6.8 is piston driven aswell.
