Diference in date of first car registration?

I have the following problem. I have bought a car from dealer. After checking all documents at home more thoroughly, I have noticed difference between date of first registration. In service history log book it is 22nd of March 2002. In Registration Certificate it is 27th of January 2003. It looks like a scam for me, because car is "younger" 1 year. What to do now? Thank you for your answers.

What's probably happened is that the original dealer has carried out the pre-delivery inspection service on the earlier date, and written that down in the book like he's supposed to, then the car's been lying around on his lot unsold for the intervening time, before being registered by the first owner, which is the date on the reg. document.
You could contact the vehicle manufacturer or importer with the chassis number and they can give you the "build date" of the car, which will be even earlier than the date on the service history.
If you discover the car is older than advertised then you may have a case, but if you're happy with it otherwise I'd maybe kick up a bit of a fuss and settle for a free service or something, as the difference in value between the two dates (given that the car's about 6 years old however you look at it) is negligible.

Put the Reg No. and make into this site, it will give you the date of first registration.

I would be more inclined to belive the V5, the service book may just be a clerical error.

Go back to the dealer and question it. Ask to speak to the manager.
Also, pull a carfax and see if you can get more information. If you find the car was misrepresented, contact the state attorney general's office ( every state has one). Good luck.
