One hour a week is all it takes? |
I just read a few answers from Christinans, and the general theme of most of them was 'it's only an hour.' Is that seriously all the time some people spend believing in their faith? Or did I just encounter a high number of the people who sin till Sunday and then restart once service ends? MK, you weren't the only one that I have heard that from recently. here is a story I heard once. sadly it is a little of both.... that is why the church is in such poor shape it is in now.... i hate to say it but the only way to get the church back like it is supposed to is if Christians all over the world and not just in a few select countries started to get beat, tortured, and killed for their faith, as right now in general people treat Christianity as a comfort then a lifestyle.... I find it very sad that alot of Christians will sin, then go to church thinking it's all okay. You're taking their words out of context. i do believe the latter. I as a believer see and understand the hypocracy you see as I assume a non believer. Forgive me if I assume incorrectly please. Christ says he will turn away more that claim to know Him than enter into heaven. You're right to assume it's more than a thing to check off of the grocery list for the week. You have unfortunately encountered "Sunday morning Christians" who are only Christians for that one hour and then live anyway they want the rest of the time. This is not how a true Christian acts. It is a lifelong 24/7 relationship with God. I don't know about the others, I try my darnedest to not sin, but don't always succeed. I was ranting on how people don't even want to give 1 hour a week to God. They'd rather ignore Him, than spend 1 hour with Him. Sad, isn't it? that is very sad even an hour a day is not enough it is a full life commitment. if you are putting God in one department like church you do not know him. I think they were a bunch of semi Christians is that. Faith in Christ is a lifelong committment that changes every aspect of your mind and behaviors. If you believe anything on yahoo answers you are an idiot .. Sunday service is just the axis of the week. Worship never stops. I'll endorse option B....... This is a question that a lot of us are wondering. |
