AT&T and AIM?

Hi.
I have a MOTOKRZR under AT&T. My first question is about the AIM service on my phone. Is it free to IM people if i have unlimited texting? And also, whenever i use AIM on my phone, it takes a REALLY long time to recieve texts. And when i send IM's back, my friends complain it takes too long to recieve the IM's. Is there anyway i can fix this problem?
Thanks for your answers. :-)

At&t AIM has nothing to do with texting they will charge you for GPRS data transfer..
