What is your #1 gripe.....?

.......about servers? I am a server and I just wanted to see how people think when it comes to servers and the service industry.

If you are a server: What is your #1 gripe about the public?

All answers and opinions welcome! Thanks!

No one knows how to use their manners, whatever happened to a simple please and thank you.

DON'T GET ME WRONG THERE ARE SOME AWESOME SERVERS OUT THERE BUT...

When a server acts like we should be serving them.

When they spend all their time on large tables trying to get the huge tip from them while ignoring smaller tables.

When they ask you a question passing by when your mouth is full or passing by so quick you can't say anything like can I get some Ketchup.

Some servers seem to purposely leave something out so we have to keep asking them for something, is this a ploy to get a bigger tip for feeling guilty about asking for stuff?

When they are preoccupied with laughing and joking with the other co-workers

I don't like rude and/or inattentive servers.

And having worked in stores I detest obnoxious customers (nasty, impatient, trash the place, etc). That's why I do my best to be ultra-polite when I'm a customer--because I know what kind of crap servers have to put up with.

The ugly cocktail waitresses the unions brought in, in Las Vegas, and they wear those dumb outfits that show their fat and their ugliness.

Some of them are over 70 and they still make them wear those ridiculous costumes, as if anyone would be interested.

A server who sees your glass is full or empty and waits till you put food in your mouth to ask if you need another... if its alcohol or the plate is empty its ok to ask... but keep my glass full and i will usually tip 20 %... otherwise its what I have left over from a larger bill

a lack of interest in providing a service sometimes.
yes, I know it is not the most fascinating thing to do, but please a little help and a cheerful attitude goes a long way

attitude. It becomes real obvious when a person does not want to be there at work. Hey, everybody has their bad days, but that doesn't mean you should take it out on the public.

nothing i love people.
