Jumping car may have lead to possible short...?

I went out to my car today (2004 Nissan Altima 2.5S) and discovered the battery dead. I jump started my car with my Grandmothers car (2007 Honda Accord V6) and managed to get my car started. After a few minutes having my car run to recharge the battery, I disconnected the jumper cables and was startled and dropped the cables to the ground. My car then sparked and shut off. I tried to restart the engine, and all of the lights and radio began flashing and making clicking noises. I reconnected the car, and tried to jump it again, but this time it seems completely dead, and the only thing that happens is it clicks and the interior lights flash. My father seems to think the battery may be bad, but I being the pessimist I am believe it to be far worse than that. If we are unable to start the car in the morning, it will be towed to the local service station for repair analysis, but I figured before then, YAHOO!! Answers would be the place to check!

**Where would I find the main fuses?***

BATTERY MAY BE FRIED. TRY NEW BATERRY. IF NEW BATTERY DOESNT WORK, MAIN COMPUTER.MAYBE ALL FUSES AND RELAYS

look for a open fuse.
and before to jump it again ask yahoo how to do it right.

Check your main fuses under the hood.

Hmm.. well first off, your not sapposed to have your radio on when you jump/charge your car.. most people dont know that, but that can mess up your radio.. can short that out.. just thought i'd let ya know bout that... as far as the other fuses, they will be in a black box, it will be shown in your user manual, so look for where it is placed in there. That would be the easiest. Check for a blown fuse, and make sure to replace it with the same size fuse. Also check inside your vehicle to check to see if you blew any of those fuses as well. Best of luck!

...hmmm never heard of that happening before i use to spark my cables all the time to test if they are good... Not the best i know.... but now i think i will never do it again... HOWEVER it may be possible that it overloaded a cell in your battery. dead cell means it won't start, i just had to replace my battery because of that. but hey, what do i know....

^listen to him before me, i forgot about the fuses :p

The main fuses would be in a box under the hood, it should be black and plastic. however on the nissan some of the cars have the boxes under the steering wheel. Check the Manual for that... or because i have nothing better to do at work i will look 4 ya..

..after searching i find nothing.. sorry bro...
