Wireless internet question? |
Does the word "router" mean it is capable of wireless internet? Is this comtrend able to go wireless? If so, what is the i.p to type in the address bar...(after searching it seems 192.168.1.1 is very common for many routers so I tried that) Oh, sorry... 'Router' doesnt necessarily mean that it has wireless capabilities, but if it came with your ISP it probably is. The address to access your router's settings is different depending on which model the router is, so is the login password. router can be hardwired or wireless - it should have a light for the wireless if it is in fact wireless. You can look on the internet to find out if your ISP changes the user name and password (or you could call the tech support number). Likewise you can look up the user's guide for your specific hardware on the internet as well, if you don't have it. I think my Linksys router's default is "admin" (with no password). If your ISP set it up, if it is wireless, they no doubt set up the necessary security as well, and you need to talk to them about those details. The word router means that it is a router (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Router. Would it really kill you to look that up first?). Obiously, a wireless router is capable of maintaining a wireless internet connection. |
