What's a reasonable amount to pay for monthly cell phone bill?

If the family gross income is $50,000 - what's your opinion on a reasonable monthly amount to pay for cell service? Just curious what you think. One working parent, one stay home mom. I think its unreasonable to pay over $100, but we can get better service or coverage for $150... let me know what your personal opinion is. Best answer 10 points

My husband needs a cell phone for work, he's a wildland firefighter and is on call in all 50 states. So he requires national coverage which does cost more. I just stay home, but understand that he has to have certain things to do his job - equipment and a cell phone wise.

My gross family income is around $66,000 and I agree with you, I don't think it's reasonable to pay more than $100 for a monthly cell phone bill. My fiance and I pay about $55 each for our cell phone service because we use one of the talk all you want cell phone service providers. It has a limited coverage area, but since we don't go out of town much it works perfectly for us!

I think you'd have to justify the added cost with a real serious reason. Like if one person has to travel out of town all the time for business, they might need better coverage or a bigger coverage area. But if it's just for basic coverage, then I think sticking with the lower bill is better.

With all the increases in gas prices and food prices, I think you have to cut cost where you can. At one time, cell phone were more of a luxury item. Now we can't do without them! But for me, I'm trying to cut costs in all the areas I can. I'm looking at my cell phone, cable and other extra bills and trying to keep them as low as possible.

I have a cell phone and do not really pay anything monthly. So if you are not addicted to phones, text messaging, or internet on a tiny screen, you can get a prepaid phone. Last time I checked, the best deal was T-mobile where you can get 1000 nationwide minutes good for a year for $100. Since that lasts me almost a year, that works out to about $10/month.

Sorry that 100- is way too much. 1200 a year聽 is not necessary.聽 My prepaid plan is 120 a year.聽 That's a difference of 900 a year you could be saving

Go with a pay go phone, keeps the cost down and money in the pocket.
