How do you battle on Pokemon Pearl using wifi?

Okay, I've been encountering problems trying to battle a friend of mine wirelessly.

Here's the info:

We both have access to wifi in our homes and can use the global trading center. I can even go online with my DS browser, so there is no problems there.

He did have to put in a WEP key before he could connect to GTC but now that works fine.

We exchanged friend codes, added each other to the pal thing, and I invited him to a battle. He clicked apply. Then after a few seconds I get this error message, I don't understand why. Then it usually makes whoever gave out the invitation to reconnect to wifi.

We can't trade, use voice chat or any other wifi service. I'm at a loss of what to do. Person who figures out the answer to the problem gets best answer.

If you read the question correctly you'd realize that me joining his battles doesn't work either.

humm i think ether your friend actualy isnt on and is tricking you or one of you put in the others code in wrong
