In Canada If you get a pardon for a charge on a criminal record do I then have a clean record? |
And will I pass a criminal record check for things like med school, police service, fire department, working in a bank, dentistry, and other occupations that require criminal record checks. Just wondering what my potential options for my future are and if I should rule anything out. I'm not going to say what the crime was (legal reasons), except to that it was a violent crime, a 1st offence, and I was blacked out drunk when I did it, which doesn't make it okay I'm just saying that because since i have no memory of it i'm still not sure if I'm guilty of anything. It seems Steven Harper is government is cracking down hard on violent crimes, and being blacked out drunk is no longer a legitamite defence like it was a few months ago. So I will probably serve some substantial time where as 3 months ago i would of got a slap on the wrist. Is the likely hood of a pardon less likely for violent crimes? Can anyone give me a ballpark answer of the odds of me getting a pardon in 5 years K Joshua you retard I'm not making excuses. I am going to likely do time and i except that. I'm not making excuses. Did you even read the whole thing. I won't be eligible for a pardon for 5 years after i get out of jail and i was just wondering if i get pardoned in 5 years if that will show up on a criminal record check for a job. you will still have a record, but it will be noted that it has been pardonned I knew someone who got a pardon and was arrested afterwards yet again: this time his criminal history wasn't even accessible to the courts and they treated him like a first-time offender! Blacking out shouldnt be an excuse, you shouldnt get off if you did something drunk, if your worried about doing it dont get that dam drunk, you deserve jailtime for a violent crime, even if you were drunk youll past the test but if you get arested for somthing else and you go court to fight it they could bring it up and it would hurt you then |
