Navy Seals drop out rate and missions?

I was thinking about (I'm 15) that when I'm 18 I would take one year of law school (which would be expensive) and then have the Navy pay for it and take 2-4 more years in the Navy so I can become a lawyer. Then take the rest of my degree in the service.

And I wanted to become a Navy Seal. My Questions are:

What is the drop out (washout) rate?
What kind of missions would you do and would you almost always be on a ship?
And what is the life expendency of a Navy Seal?

Thanks in advance! And I already talked to a recruiter via chat. He just couldn't answer these questions.

well.. first off, you cant go into law school when you are 18.. you can go to college and study pre-law, but that is a 4 year program. and the navy won't just pay for it, you have to use one of the many educational programs, ... id recommend doing NROTC and get all four years paid for that way.. then once you get your bachelors degree you can go to law school which takes 3 years .

Doing it all in the service is great too, but remember,.. you cant go to law school before you get your bachelors..

second.. the washout rate is approximately 65 % but that varies.. (i'll plug the Air Force here.. Pararescuemen have a washout rate of about 88-90% the highest in the military)..anyway..

they do special operations missions, including extractions, surveillance and operations in hostile territory that no one should know about or that are too dangerous or difficult to assign to larger forces.

life expectancy? i dont think anyone can answer that.. you're not guaranteed to be killed if thats what you're worried about.

Good luck

You seem quite confused. Follow the information the first guy told you. There is also a JAG program which is a Navy Lawyer, a good way to start your career as a Lawyer. You have 3 years so start researching. Best of luck to you.

The last I heard, the drop out (ringing out) rate is still quite high. Somewhere around 65 to 70%. But it used to be closer to 85 to 90%.
Your best bet on learning about them is to read some books written BY recent, former SEALs, that way you are getting a closer look at what they are all about these days. As opposed to the teams from the Vietnam era. I'm not taking anything away from them, they were THE kickass take names guys who wrote the book on SEAL tackticks. But things are much different now.
The life expectancey is even harder to guage. The training alone can be deadly. On a combat mission all bets are off. There is no telling what kind of boondogle you might get sent on, and the intel could be crud (like in Grenada). You could actually get shot too. They don't call it hazardous duty pay for nothing.
