Reset without having to reinstal windows?

hi i use a desktop comp. (its like AMD processor or somthing like that) and it uses windows xp home service pack 3 i believe?? and now all of a sudden its OD with viruses i cant get rid of.. is there a way to wipe out the harddrive of my computer without having to reinstall windows? if not is there a way i can reinstall windows without having to get a CD? if not where can i get this CD and for how much... hopfully free! please help. best answer WILL be chosen.

Do exactly what I said.

Boot from Win CD!
Select Repair (not install) when it ask.
Then start your computer.
Do not acess any files or folder or disk driver now with Windows Explorer!
Only use IE to surf panda online antivirus scan or another online scan(Symantec,...), you can allow it to install some software, no problem.
Reboot.
Use Run(Windows key+R) to install antivirus software.
Update it and scan.
Reboot again.

Dude u try restoring u r system, the process is as follows.

Go to Start button click on it, and follow the path - All programs - Accessories - System tools - System restore.

Now click on system restore u'll see a calender chart. There u could find several dates highlighted. Select any of previous days which would be highlighted with bold letters. Once u select click on next as ur sys restarts automatically.

All ur previous drivers will be loaded according to the date u select. If ur comp is affected by Trojan this may not work..

Any way Good luck try with this.

If it doesn't work u've to format u r hard drive. If first option works u wont be loosing any data in ur sys. Use better anti virus like Kasperskey to keep away Viruses.

sorry to say but you need a windows install disc (XP Pro with SP2 i hope), then just put into your CD drive and reboot your system, then select install, reformat, then install again back into the same partition again, and "Bingo" you have done a clean install, but ALL YOUR STUFF will be gone. hope this helps you.

did you at least try using an antivirus to rid of the virus? there are free antivirus software you can download and use. also, some isp's include antivirus software check with your isp.

also, you may have received a system restore cd with you computer.
