Do you think without giving deserving pay hike to govt. servants you keep away them from taking bribes?

Initial question - Dont you think that govt. servant should be paid highest
in private sector or bussiness everyone from the lower stage to the propriters everyone works for higher earnings/profits but the services that are provided by the govt. servants are purly for the benefit or public to make their life easy. If in ones bussiness he does well he get well but in govt services govt. servant remains ineffacted and waits only for his salary. In other countries services paid heavily to make them accountable and relexed.

Don't you hate from the Govt Servant all they have auctioned out the country by their misdeed in collusion with politicians. You go to any State Govt Office or Central Govt. office barring pew Govt Servants everybody is busy for filling up their pockets. They dont need any pay hike.
analysation - whereas, everyone in this world busy in prize hike for their profits, without giving rightful pay they couldnt stopped, fresh employee also here

Probably not. By the way, corrupt people inhabit all walks of life.

Whatever sum you pay them (very few are exceptional and I've came across), they think that to sign the attendance and sit prettily. To do or not to do (for benefit of the 'client') that is something public will pay what is called sweet-money/bribe and that to tax-free. To prevent this such Govt servants must be given capital punishment.

If any person is not happy with the salary he/she is receiving, they always can quit and find an other Job. But, let me tell you, a govt servants' compensation is more than that of an average private sector worker. Govt job is more secured, no targets. The greed to earn more money, lead a luxurious life, have made them to do so. Unless we stop bribing, this menace will never end.

Bribe is nothing to do with pay scale. U must understand that there is lots of people in private sector who gets very less pay than govt; employees. Do they take bribes?
The actual reason for corruption in govt; service is unaccountability. No govt; would dare to take effective steps to stop corruption in govt; service, as they fear the collective strength of govt; employees.

Too much input.

Any American who complains whines and moans about the way things are NOT going well usually have not voted or NEVER voted but feel their complaining will stir others to do something.

Rubbish. Any government servant should serve "pay free". Look up the definition of SERVANT.

So gather 10 of your friends who should also gather 10 of their friends and so forth. Now VOTE against any and all liberals running for office. That will begin getting the over paid non working servants out of office and perhaps in the next 50 to 100 years we'll have American back in the hands of the people.

Do u think those people(non goverment ) of india earning less then Rs 3000 per months should become culprit and nuisance to the country just to live happily?
give them lakhs rs but the only things stop them from being corrupt is heavy punishment

No, India is a good example of this. It makes them want more and gives unnecessary power to what would otherwise be a private sector position.

All want more, more pay, more bribe. Salary is for attendence, bribe is for work. All demands.

bribe has nothing to do with pay scale , it is a perk
do u think where service providers is private company there is less corruption ? No

even if you pay million dollar a month... to a government servant... he / she will take bribe if he is a corrupt official...

What a piece of trash for a question. What grade (or country) are you in?

No, salary hikes will not prevent bribes. Those who want more...keep wanting more.

aina is right

In the United States those government servants don't have too shabby of a wage. Especially to be in elected office as a public servant. (See - President 600 thousand per year.) Also, some of these servants continue to receive pay until their death. Unlike when one does badly at business and there is less or no money, they do not receive 'pay garnishments' for doing a poor job. (I'm going to stick with elected officials because I know of really no other catagories of government servant that regularly take or are accused of taking "bribes" in this country.)

Their purpose is not to make the publics life easy, they are to be the voice of their constituents and to act in their constituents interest. Again, their pay is not decreased when they do not do this job either. The largest risk is that of not getting re-elected or possibly impeached. If I remember correctly, historically speaking, public service was not expected to be a full time job. ie- Congress was not to almost always be in session. These people were expected to have other obligations and professions. You know, lives.

Having said that - if you're referring to any other catagory, such as police or mail or etc. they would also apply to this - any crooked person will continue to be crooked no matter how much you give them because what they want is more.

u r right. when cost of living is increasing the pay of government servents must also be increased. whatever the dareness allowance they are getting is not sufficient to meet the family maintenance.a worried mind cannot concentrate on work. secondly even thelowest paid employee also wants to educate children to see them in good position. but to educate the children with this little income it may not possible. hence they will resort for bribes. i know a attender in a.p secretariat has constructed a house worth of 35 lakhs. such type of people are also there. there are two sides of the coin. i know another straight forward officer who is not able to educate her daughter with his salary. so two paradoxes. hence they are resorting for bribes. as a m,atter of fact with 7.5 per cent house rent allowance u cannot get single room also in small towns. cant the pay commissioner dont know the gross route realities. when biggest officers are corrupted small employees are also resorting.why the government confiscate the property of the erring official. all these things are to be address to eradicate bribes in government offices.

From the way you present your question and the additional details,it is obvious that you are a government servant.Having said that, may I ask you to tell us from your experience as to what percentage of government employees are
sincere in their work schedule?Their productivity leaves much to be desired. Not only that, they are observed to be rude to the public whom they are expected to serve. These public servants who behave like masters in public, are
more conscious of their rights than their duties.
Most of the congenital bribe takers think it is their birthright to be paid(over and above their wages/salaries) gratification for performing their duties. You may perhaps be an exception with a genuine grievance about your pay scale,
(and I sympathise with your lot),but please don't attempt to make excuses for the diehard
extortionists.
