Sweepstakes Scam? |
My family's broke thanks to a Starpack Services Inc. sweepstakes, stating that we won 250,000 bucks. One of my family members was stupid enough to do what was told. Is there any way of getting that lost money back? *Sent to a P.O. Box & Cash. oh, btw! We received a check for 4800 bucks (to SUPPOSEDLY pay taxes), and that family member cashed it and used all of it. It was fake. Now we owe the bank. No u cant recover this money..Those scam are called Nigerian scams. Ur family member sld have took the check to bank and ask if it was real or not before they cash it..There aint no such thing as a free meal...First off u dont pay money to recieve money that u already won..ur family member shld have told them deduct what he owe them for taxes from what he won and they wld have change their tune instantly, then he wld have known it was a scam..I sorry that u lost ur money but u got to be vigilent these days b/c ppl are getting slicker and slicker. Your only hope is to contact the police, but the chances that you will get your money back are slim. |
