Hi,
I have started my own business for the equine world and my business takes place in Los Angeles here in Southern California, any tips on what I should put in my services? Where I should advertise? Also how do I get my business organized? Also should I get employees? If so what kind of job positions?

PLEASE GIVE ME TIPS FOR MY EQUESTRIAN BUSINESS!

2 so far and plus its just a side job I don't care about the prices and plus I am only 15

Really you need to raise the prices. It might sound ok to you, but you are actually going to lose money. Remember gas is- in your area- probably close to $4.50 a gallon! and everyone who hires you might not exactly be in walking distance. Also just take out the turn out/free lunging thing, its ,no offense, quite silly. You would no way free lunge a horse while it is turned out (can teach bad catching habits) and most normal people are not going to pay you to turn out their horse, on top of that. Most boarding places do that for you.

What I think of the whole thing? I think your not going to get business and if you do your going to be losing more money than you make. Plain and simple, if you want business, your going to need something more like this, catering more towards people who are showing will earn you more cash :

Mane Pulling: $10 a mane
Mane Braiding: $15 a mane
Tail Braiding: $12 a tail
Full Bath (owner supplies shampoo/conditioner etc) $20
Full Bath (I supply Shampoo/conditioner) $25
Tack Cleaning (saddle AND bridle) $15
Exercise By Riding: $20 an hour
Exercise By Lunging: $10 for 1/2 hour

Extended services (if you are away)

Horse Care (feeding turn out mucking bring in) $7 an hour

____

that i feel is the lowest you should go.

~First, what are you going to be doing at your equine center? (example; lessons, boarding, etc)
~Advertise at places like tack shops, Feed stores, pet shops, you know, places where ppl with horses would go.
~I don't think you should get employees until you have more customers. When or if you do, you should hire them to clean the stalls, if you are doing lessons, get them to help out with the lessons, you know, hire them to help out with the business and horses.
~I'm not quite sure how you should get your business started as I have never started a business of my own.

~Hope this helps

one thing that you could do is put everything together in a monthly price. Like my boarding stable charges me $250 a month instead of $4 a week for grain and etc.

you could also try and give lessons and lease out horses

and you could get your barn into 4H

advertise all over the place.... at your feed and tack stores and etc.

and until your business grows I wouldn't hire anyone but once it does you might want someone to clean out the stalls and etc.

WOAH! Thats super cheap! I guess its good for a short while while you are getting started. But tell your customers that the prices are subject to change!!

Raise your prices, like said before people aren't going to take you seriously!
Good Luck with your small business!

Edit: A small business tip the money you earn put back into the business as much as you can!

wow, I wish you could muck my horses stall for $5 a week!!! You should raise your prices!! You've got to get the word out. When I was looking for a stable I had to drive around basically stopping at places that looked like they might board. I agree with advertising at tack shops, feed stores, etc. You do a good job and the rest will follow!

your prices are WAY to cheap. people arent going to take you seriously

i think that since you are still only 15, you should find another barn to work at to get experiance. ask the manager if he/she can teach you how to run a business, and jsut get esperience with the horses

Great idea.
Rise your prices, way to cheap!
Maybe put some specifies of your services.
Advertise in feed stores, barns, Vet offices, local horse papers, and word of mouth is always good. Oh, and business cards.
Good luck with your business.

Those are really cheap! I wouldl raise the prices. How many customers you have would help us answer the questions! Good Luck!
