As a service member am I suppose to respect (brown nose) politicians?

Outside the president I just wanna spit every time I see one of these individuals that does nothing for our country. I avoid em in a war zone or functions. Its stone-cold one word answers & I don't take pictures with any of them. Without saying anything I want the message written on my face that I don鈥檛 like you.

Hell no baby, stay safe by just saying nothing to them.

Showing respect to our elected officials is not BROWN NOSING. If I showed YOU respect would I be BROWN NOSING you?
You avoid politicos in a war zone? HA! What 'war zone' are you in?
You go to functions where our elected officials attend? HA!
As a member of the U.S. Armed Forces you are required to SHOW respect to senior personnel and our elected officials. Whether or not you RESPECT them is up to you. I saw a photo of a U.S. Marine taken with...gag...Hilary Clinton. He had his fingers crossed indicating he did not want to do that.

You don't have to repect them personally, but be careful - if somebody got pissed enough at you, and you actually said something, they could hit you with Article 134鈥?(Disloyal statements). Or if a Commissioned Officer did something like that - Article 88 - Contempt towards officials.

I had a guy in a past unit that almost got charged for cussing at and then turning his back on a Senator. The chain of command was not amused.
