How to start charging customers for phone calls?

hi, I work at my families business which is musical drum restoration, so we do a lot of service, repairing and restoring drums. A lot of our time though is spent answering phone calls, which takes away from us actually working to make money and thus we are several months behind. Is there anyway to set up a system to start charging customers for their phone calls, like some business do?

Why not just have an answering / voice mail machine. Then you can screen the nuisance calls out and get back to the ones that are income generating.

Another way to get around it is to make your money up front - considering you will have to have some level of telephone support. So you would have to have a higher price on the items that people mostly call about.
