What's your most favorite place to go for the English Afternoon Tea?

This category is under "Dining Out"; so please do not give an answer like "my grandma鈥檚 place' or "my neighbor's"...etc. I really would like to know what you think is the best place you had been for the English Afternoon Tea in terms of its atmosphere, the service, the good tea sandwiches, good pastries... etc. Thanks.

Ok, so if you include places that are out of town, my very favorite places for afternoon tea are:

1. The Empress Hotel in Victoria, BC
2. The Ritz, London
3. (gone now) The Plaza Hotel, NY
4. The Sheraton Palace, SF

Here in Orange County, there are a number which are less frou-frou:

Tea Garden Creperie at Sherman Gardens - for the ambience
Teddy Bears and Teacups - because its fun to be a kid.
Ritz Carlton Laguna Niguel - its really nice and there's a view

A good hotel chain like W will have delicious petit fours, scones with clotted cream and jam available at tea time.

English Afternoon Tea is the ONLY British institution that I think is worth adopting.
