Can someone answer a question about US Army Parachute Riggers? |
I am a prior service Sergeant/E-5, and I came out of active duty in 2006. I am very interested in reenlisting to be a parachute rigger. Does anyone currently have this MOS, or can give me information on it. I am currently 23, and don't have any disqualifying conditions. Also, I would be able to pass Airbourne school. Parachute Rigger (branch of the Quartermaster Corps): First you will attend a 3 week course prepping you for Airborne School. You must successfully finish Jump School. If not, you will be reclassed at the Army needs. After completion, you will attend a 10 week course at Ft. Lee, VA. It is broken down to 3 phases: personnel pack, aerial delivery, and air item repair. During the first 3 weeks you will be required to jump a parachute you packed. I don't believe anything has changed since I retired. |
