Restore Search Option In Start Menu After Installing/Upgrading Service Pack 1 for Vista? |
I recently instaled Windows Vista service pack 1 for my computer. While looking though my start menu i found out the search option above/under the recent items button had dissapaeared. After doing some research, I found out microsoft had done this to the service pack update for some odd/weird reason. So I found a program which claimed to restore the seach option, called WinBubble- but it did not work. Then after looking aroung some more for an alternative i found 2 other methods- the pin-search to start method and the registery hack meathod. But both have there flaws. So im looking to the YAHOO community for an answer to how I can restore the search option w/o altering another file program or icon.- ty You don't need it. As soon as you hit the start button, you can begin typing what you are looking for. You can also use this feature to launch apps and run command line arguments. If you want to search in a specific location, you can browse to it using Windows Explorer and use the built in search bar in the top right corner. All the search button did before was open up Windows Explorer and had you use that search bar in the top right anyway. |
