Why are there people who do not tip? I mean, never tip, not just because of bad service.?

I've been responding about tipping, as I am a waitress. I have learned a few things from Yahoo Answers.
However, why do some people not tip at all? I mean, not just once but all the while. I know sometimes people forget, or the service was bad or whatever, but there are some people who just don't tip. Are you one of them? If so, why?
We get some at my place of work, and they usually get bad service, and the boss knows it. But as long as they are spending money at the restaurant, she doesn't care. Some waitresses "sneek" the tip into their bill, so that the customer doesn't know it, but I am an honest person and I can't do that.

So, if you are a non tipper, please let me know why. Most of us make a few bucks an hour for a wage.

amen to this question. i too am a server and am very interested in why people dont tip or tip poorly even though service was awesome. i dont think unfortunately taht a non tipper is going to come in here and answer.

i make 3.50 an hour and tip out 3.5% of my sales each night.. its a tough job.

Unfortunately, non-tippers come with the territory. You'd think they'd be embarrassed...but even if they don't tip you, they're still paying customers. There's not much your manager (or anyone) can do except grin and bear it.

What your co-workers are doing by adding to the bill is illegal, and they could get fired for doing it. Better to just enjoy your tipping customers more. They'll make up for the cheapskates

If service is bad enough for me to have to involve a manager, that is the only time I will not tip. Otherwise, I tip generously. My Mother, on the other hand, is a die-hard non-tipper and it is embarassing to dine out with her. She chooses to not understand the point of paying more than your bill for your food. Her argument is "If they don't like their job, they should go to college or get a real job!"
