How do i reformat my harddrive my computer info is listed below?

i hav microsoft windows xp professional version 2002 service pack2

COMPUTER:

Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.00GHz , 448MB of RAM


i want to reformat my ASUS mother board

how do i do this

dont tell me this is a bad idea dont ask whats the reason ...dont be rude...dont say stupid answers

Simple: Put in the Windows XP CD and boot from the CD.

You may have to change the BIOS to boot from CD prior to Hard Drive. It you have to change the BIOS restart the computer with the Windows CD in the computer watch the screen when it says to boot from CD press any key..

From there follow the on screen instructions and when you get to the type of install choose new install.. Choose to delete all partitions and then install Windows in a the new partition...Choose format NTSF and Windows will take it from there.

All Data and programs WILL be lost so back up all important data to a DVD or Flash drive before starting.

Have the drivers handy for any non standard items in your computer.

if you have your windows cd just put it in and boot, when you go to install you can choose to format the drive.

you have to reinstall windows after the format anyway.

make sure your computer is set to boot off of cd from the bios, by pressing del or f8 or something when it starts up. it will tell you what key. then go to the boot menu and tell it to go off of cd before hard drive.

Not knowing the final results you are trying to achieve, the quickest way is to get a upgrade bios, modify the bios then upload the modify bio. Keep a copy of of the unmodify bio for backup. Do know of one O/S where appears to be the way. Site has link to varouis other sites for card drivers.
