How to make yahoo default email service when it's not in the drop down box.?

Someone had previously asked how to make yahoo as the default email. and received this answer.

"To make Yahoo Mail as the default email. Server.

1. From the 鈥淪tart鈥?pop-up menu in the lower left corner of your desktop, select 鈥淪ettings鈥?then 鈥淐ontrol Panel鈥?
2. In the Control Panel, select 鈥淚nternet Options鈥? This opens the 鈥淚nternet Properties鈥?window.
3. Click the 鈥淧rograms鈥?tab along the top.
4. Click the 鈥淓-mail鈥?pull-down menu, and select Yahoo! Mail*"

If it were only that easy I would love it, but unfortunately I don't have yahoo mail listed in the email pull down menu. How do I add it?

Yahoo doesn't normally appear on the list, as one of the choices-----in which case, you will have to download (or RE-download) Messenger---all of it----and that will put Yahoo on the list for a while.

Now go back (Tools-Internet Options-programs tab) and you will able to select Yahoo from the email drop down menu---then "apply and ok".

Later, you can remove Messenger---if you don't want it---without affecting the setting.
