Debating topic: emergency services SHOULD be allowed to strike.?

i need some information on this topic and reasons why they should be allowed to strike. it would be great if i could get an answer back from someone who works in the emergency services... anything helps. are there any conditions which you are alloed to strike under?

Instead of striking which would be a threat to anyone who was genuinly seriously ill or involved in a road traffic accident etc, i think they're call-outs should be modified! for instance WHY should they have to be called out to some idiot whose commited suicide? Jumping off buildings and in front of trains etc should negate the need for such things as an ambulance which could otherwise be heading off to someones child, mum, dad, brother or sister lying somewhere seriously in need of that ambulance! Only the black 'meat wagon' sometimes called the 'coroners private ambulance' should be sent out to such events. After all even IF they had survived they're jump/fall etc they clearly want to be dead anyway so why waste an ambulance on them. Of course it's a bit more difficult with the fire brigade, police etc (and for down here the life guard) as they clearly have to respond to every call out. But personally (and like it or not it IS my own personal view) A valuable ambulance should be DENIED to anyone commiting or attempting to commit suicide!!!!! Interesting question too. No they should not be allowed to strike. The majority of people in the EMS are idiots. They take the job full well knowing what the job entails and what the salaries will be over the time that they're employed. But no they get greedy and whiny and want more than what they understood to be their benefits and pay. When you take a job with any EMS dept you take it because you want to help people first , make a difference then worry about your rewards later.
