Adjusted Service Bonds?

This is an answer to a question posted previously by Elsa M on this same topic. I only found this site recently and was not able to answer the question in the time allotted. I hope she finds this answer.

Adjusted Service Bonds were issued (they were not bought) to veterans of WWI as payment for a bonus. They were issued in a $50.00 denomination. They are still redeemable by the heirs of the original holder.

More importantly, they are sought after by collectors. They are relatively scarce and usually sell for more money to a collector than would be received through redemption.

Sorry, we're all victims of emails from the Yahoo Answer team. We can't turn them off. Apparently Yahoo doesn't consider it "spam" if they fill our inboxes with junk.
