Should I download Vista Service Pack 1, or wait until it auto-updates?

Ok, so I went to the Microsoft website, and on the Service Pack 1 section it said they "strongly recommend" customers wait until mid-April when computers auto-update with service pack 1.

It also says it includes all the files that have been updated since the launch of Vista, and new ones to make Vista better.

Well, I don't want to have those files on my computer twice... Would they install OVER the files, or will those ones just be left out?

I'm so confused.

Should I wait, or is it OK to download Service Pack 1?

**Please don't answer saying "Vista sucks, switch to Mac/Linux/XP"**

Because I've had no problems with Vista at all, on any of the 4 computers I've owned/still own with Vista.

You can download SP1 but it might not install when it starts. It tests whether your computer is compatible with the drivers it contains. And a lot of people find that installing updates from microsoft will give you problems to last the night. SP1 only brings a small improvement to the system. You get critical updates thru window updates anyway.
It will make backups of the system files it replaces.
