How to deal with employees of your utility company....?

coming onto your property, unannounced, no uniform, no name tag, driving a personal vehicle with no company name? I will call my gas company, Mountain Gas Co. Their employees just come and go from my property as they see fit. The meters on my property were checked on Monday. One employee, just pulled into the yard behind my garage and was nosing around. Wasn't even looking at the meter. I have video/audio surveillance cameras and have him on video tape. Before, I could confront him, he jumped into his truck and took off. Tried calling the gas company and got their answering service, which, knows nothing!

I have posted property signs and no trespassing signs up in the general area where this man was.

Utility Co. employees are required to carry ID which identifies them as such.

Send a certified, return receipt letter to the Pres. of the utility. Explain the problem, and let them know that you will assume that anyone on your property that doesn't first ID themselves to you will be considered a trespasser, and you will call the police to have them arrested. Your actions will take effect 10 days after they receive the letter.

call the police and show them your tape
then call your City Mayor and make a real bad stink about it= My meter reader wears a uniform and a tag or better go to your local TV station and give them the tape

Call the police and file a report. No employees should be on your property whether they are direct hires or contractors unless they have credentials and why they are on your property.

You can have your utilities disconnected, but that's about it. By receiving utilities you grant them permission
