Religion and love?

my new bf is involved with a church called the international church of christ. He told me first it was the church of christ so i decided to do some checking into of my own. and asked the closest church of christ some ?s and if i could come to a service. they said yes and answered my ?s honestly. but, when i looked up the international one it scared me. it sounded like a cult and that all who do not join and follow the bible exactly are considered non christain. i am a christain and a lutheran i am baptazied as well as my kids. His family and close friends are members of his church and our faithful followers. he has kept our relationship secret and in fear that they will make him leave me. he says he refuses to let me go he loves me and i make him happy. but he is disobeying his church and what he was raised to believe by being with me. what should i do or say to him? and why would he get upset when I said i was going to a service at the church of christ this weekend.

we are taking things slow and have been together for 4 months now. And even though we live a few hrs apart we still see each other every other weekend. and we do love each other very much. he cries when i am not with him and calls me everyday. i do not want to lose him! what can I do? btw we are both 25.

well this really is a very complicated situation........but the way l see it....God wants us to be happy, He encourages to find that special mate....and if his religion is against that l would be very suspicious of that.....who is a mere man to tell us who we can and can not love......l don't know his personal attachments to his church or his personal relationship with God but encourage his to pray about the situation.

If he doesn't have enough of a backbone to tell his family that he is with you right now then he must be a mommas boy. Trust me that will interfere with your relationship in the long run. His family will get into your guys relationship and you will fight about it because you won't have privacy but believe me if he's 25 and to scared to tell them, in the future he will be taking their side too. It will be you and your children verses him and his family. and it will probably end your relationship. I would leave him before you get to many feelings involved, plus its a long distance relationship. Also because you are not their religion and because they are so strict about it his family will not like you or your kids (which is very hypicritical, but you know how that goes).
