Wireless Wii?

ive spent almost 2 hours. 45 minutes of my first hour on hold, for my goddamn router. after i ask them how to set up a wireless connection for my wii, they say we dont know. great. thanks a lot. well, with my wii, i tried the search access points, blah blah blah, testing wireless connection, error. awesome. my friend got his wii yesterday and it connected immediately. Ive had mine for over a month and its retarded. so my router people say that they need to know the number of ports that i need to open. i dont know. Nintendo isnt telling me either, so right now i am offically f**ked (i apologize for the language, im just very frustrated). my router wont even let me look up the IP Address, Security Access, ETC. so i was wondering if the wonderful people of yahoo answers could solve my problem, because the customer service for Linksys BLOWS.

Are you able to connect any other Wi-Fi equipment to your router?
-Yes, i have another computer connected via wireless

Have you setup any security settings on the router? Such as a WEP or WAP code, MAC filtering, etc?
-Yes, there are security devices, but i managed to input the password needed for the Wii to initialize the test connection

Is your Wii detecting your router when you search for connections?
-yes, it does recognize my SSID

Any error messages on the Wii when trying to connect?
-Too many that im getting very frustrated

The security access number may be printed on the back of your router. My brother has a lynksys router, though it's a couple of years old. His security code was pre-programmed into the router, with the number on the printed label that contained the serial number. My wii connected automatically, so I'm not sure what that problem could be. Hope this helps.
