Does anyone work at PetSmart?

I'm going to apply there soon. But I want to "get my foot in the door" and not get skipped over and told that I am "overqualified" for the job. I have experience...3 years of Customer Service/Sales Associate/Cashier and 2 years of combination merchandising/stocking/cashier experience. I do not want to start off as a Cashier. I've done 3 years of it, but I'd rather be a sales associate or stocker.

Their website application states a lot of positions. It's very taxing to answer 100+ questions per application, many times per store...for multiple stores. They don't have a way so that it is 'stored' for you to choose different stores to apply to at once. So I'm wondering which position to choose, to get my foot in the door and work my way up.

What is the 'basic' sales position?

I see these 3 specific positions from their list of 14 positions in a store:

Pet Care Specialist, Pet Products Associate (Stocker), Off-Hours Stocker.

I'm assuming that "Pet Care Specialist" is basically a promoted Pet Products Associate. At my last job, I was a Customer Service Associate and got promoted to Customer Service Specialist...am I correct in thinking this? I'm also wondering which one of these jobs is easiest to get. For instance...the off-hours stocker might be harder to get hired for...I don't know why I feel that it would be. I just do for some reason. Is Pet Products Associate the best (and most available) position?

I know the pay probably isn't that great...but I need a job. The economy is quite horrible, and it seems like nobody is hiring. I'm trying every place that I can.

Dude, your over thinking this, it's a job at Pet Smart for cryin out loud, just apply and if you get hired at whatever position great, if not - theres always Petco.
