Whats your thoughts on...?

How nowadays in a america its impossible to get a job if you dont speak spanish. Do you think its fair?
I mean its not like if we went to mexico we'd hear about how they cant get jobs unless they speak spanish right? So dont you think it should be that they cant get service here unless they speak english?
English is supposed to be the main language in america so how come its pretty much mandatory for us to know spanish?
I'M NOT RACIST SO DONT THINK THAT ALOT OF MY BEST FRIENDS ARE MEXICAN. AND I THINK THAT THEY DESERVE TO BE HERE AS LONG AS THEY ARE WILLING TO LEARN ENGLISH!
What are your opinions on this?

Well, to me they should learn English because that is what the majority of U.S. citizens speak.
But at the same time U.S. doesn't have an official language ( go figure)
So they are not in the wrong, but they should learn english and U.S. citizens should learn spanish. We can better communicate witheach other that way

let me tell you, down here (in mx) you have to speak english to have a better chance at landing a job, quite often.

as for what you said, i understand your points but there's nothing to it other than the fact it's all business.

legally or illegaly, there are millions of potential consumers in the u.s. and businesses, small, medium and large, realize that by having bilingual employees they have a better opportunity of taking away their dollars.

its not about being fair, its just a reality.
one of my best friends is from puerto rico and his mom lived in the us for 5 years and did not know english (i thinks its a shame they do not teach english in pr tho, when u learn as a child it is SOOO easy!!) but she learned when she had a child born in nyc and realized it was necessary for the benifit of her child. her opportunities have grown since knowing english.... (both is a benifit in many neighborhoods and cities)
In the usa you can live in neighborhoods where you do not need english to survive. it not good or bad or right or wrong, it is what it is.
