i have progressive ms, i cannot do my own nails or feet or clean house or iron or wash my hair drive i take a lot of vitamins my doctor wrote a scripe for that, yet i have to pay for all these services are they tax deductable?????where do you go for the answers before you file?? please this is urgemt

What type of disability income are you receiving? If it's SSDI from Social Security and is your only income then it's not taxable in the first place. If you have no taxable income, nothing is deductible. You don't file a tax return in the first place and there would be no benefit in doing so, except to qualify for the economic stimulus plan rebates. (That's this year only, by the way.)

If your disability is paid by a state disability system that was paid for by deductions from your wages (CA and NJ do this) then it's not taxable income either. However this state disability does not qualify for the stimulus plan rebates so there's no need to file at all.

If your disability is paid from a private insurance plan that YOU paid for with tax-paid dollars, then it's not taxable income. And this does not qualify for the rebates either.

If your disability is paid from a private insurance plan that either your employer paid for or you paid for with pre-taxed dollars then it is fully taxable income to you now. You can deduct MEDICAL expenses related to your MS treatment but NOT personal care services or non-prescription medications. Most of the items you listed are not deductible. The vitamins might be if they are only available with a doctor's prescription but a script for an over-the-counter medication doesn't make it deductible. Sorry.
